सुप्रीत मनसः सर्वे प्रत्यूचुः मुदिता भृशम् ।
ततः प्रसर्पकेभ्यस्तु हिरण्यम् सुसमाहितः ॥ ॥१-१४-५३॥
Suprīta manasaḥ sarve pratyūcuḥ muditā bhṛśam |
Tataḥ prasarpakebhyastu hiraṇyam susamāhitaḥ ॥1-14-53॥
Translation
All of them, with well-pleased minds and great joy, expressed their satisfaction. Then, with a focused mind, the King gave gold to the Prasarpakas (visiting Brahmins/observers).
हिंदी अनुवाद
वे सभी (ब्राह्मण) अत्यंत प्रसन्न मन वाले होकर बोले (कि हम संतुष्ट हैं)। इसके बाद, राजा ने एकाग्रचित्त होकर प्रसर्पकों (यज्ञ देखने आए अन्य ब्राह्मणों/याचकों) को भी सोना दिया।
English Commentary
After ensuring the satisfaction of the official priests, Dasharatha turned his attention to the Prasarpakas—the curious observers and uninvited Brahmins attending the holy event. He distributed gold to them as well. The word susamāhitaḥ (well-composed/focused) is significant; it shows that the King’s charity was not reckless or chaotic. He gave with intent, focus, and reverence, ensuring that the joy of the Yajna extended beyond the inner circle of rituals to the wider community.

मुख्य ऋत्विजों के संतुष्ट होने के बाद, राजा दशरथ का ध्यान अन्य आगंतुकों की ओर गया। 'प्रसर्पक' वे लोग या ब्राह्मण थे जो यज्ञ में आधिकारिक रूप से नियुक्त नहीं थे, परंतु दर्शनार्थ आए थे। राजा ने उन्हें भी खाली हाथ नहीं जाने दिया। 'सुसमाहितः' शब्द राजा की मानसिक स्थिति को दर्शाता है—वे दान देते समय विचलित नहीं थे, बल्कि पूर्ण श्रद्धा और एकाग्रता के साथ दान कर रहे थे। सच्चे दान में दाता का भाव उतना ही महत्वपूर्ण है जितना कि वस्तु का मूल्य।
