तृतीय सवनम् चैव राज्ञोऽस्य सुमहात्मनः ।
चक्रुः ते शाश्त्रतो दृष्ट्वा तथा ब्राह्मण पुंगवाः ॥ ॥१-१४-७॥
Tṛtīya savanam caiva rājño'sya sumahātmanaḥ । Cakruḥ te śāśtrato dṛṣṭvā tathā brāhmaṇa pungavāḥ ॥ ॥1-14-7॥
Translation
Those eminent Brahmins, having consulted the scriptures, also performed the Third Savana (evening session) for the high-souled King.
हिंदी अनुवाद
उन श्रेष्ठ ब्राह्मणों ने शास्त्रों को भली-भांति देखकर उस सुमहात्मा राजा (दशरथ) का 'तृतीय सवन' (सायंकालीन कर्म) भी संपन्न किया।
English Commentary
The daily cycle concludes with the Tritiya Savana (Third/Evening pressing). The phrase shastrato drishtva (having seen/consulted the scriptures) implies that the priests constantly referred to the texts to ensure no deviation occurred. This confirms that the rituals for King Dasharatha were executed with flawless perfection.

एक दिन के यज्ञ में तीन 'सवन' होते हैं—प्रातः, माध्यन्दिन और तृतीय (सायं)। इस श्लोक के साथ एक पूर्ण यजीय दिवस का चक्र पूरा होता है। ब्राह्मणों ने अपनी स्मृति पर भरोसा करने के बजाय 'शास्त्रतो दृष्ट्वा' (शास्त्रों में देख-परख कर) कार्य किया, जो उनकी सतर्कता और प्रामाणिकता (Authenticity) को दर्शाता है।
