एवम् उक्तः सुरैः सर्वैः चिन्तयित्वा ततोऽब्रवीत् ।
हन्ता अयम् विदितः तस्य वधोपायो दुरात्मनः ॥ ॥१-१५-१२॥
Evam uktaḥ suraiḥ sarvaiḥ cintayitvā tato'bravīt |
Hantā ayam viditaḥ tasya vadhopāyo durātmanaḥ ॥1-15-12॥
Translation
Addressed thus by all the Devas, Brahma reflected and then said, "Aha! The means to kill that evil-souled one is known to me."

"सभी देवताओं द्वारा ऐसा कहे जाने पर, ब्रह्मा जी ने विचार किया और फिर बोले—'अहा! उस दुरात्मा के वध का उपाय मुझे ज्ञात हो गया है।'"
English Commentary
Brahma reflects on the plea and experiences a moment of realization. The word Hanta is an exclamation akin to "Eureka!" or "Alas, I have it!" It signifies the discovery of the solution. Brahma acknowledges Ravana as durātmanaḥ (evil-souled), distancing himself from the demon's actions despite being the benefactor. He confirms that the legal loophole in the boon has been identified, bringing immediate relief to the anxious assembly.
हिंदी टीका
ब्रह्मा जी यहाँ समस्या पर चिंतन ('चिन्तयित्वा') करते हैं। 'हन्त' शब्द यहाँ हर्ष और समाधान मिलने के सूचक (Interjection of joy/discovery) के रूप में प्रयुक्त हुआ है। ब्रह्मा जी को याद आता है कि उन्होंने वरदान देते समय क्या शर्तें रखी थीं। रावण को 'दुरात्मनः' कहा गया है, जो यह सिद्ध करता है कि ब्रह्मा जी यद्यपि वरदान देने के लिए बाध्य थे, परन्तु वे रावण के कर्मों का समर्थन नहीं करते। समाधान मिल गया है, जो अगले श्लोकों में स्पष्ट होगा।
