ब्रह्मणा च समागम्य तत्र तस्थौ समाहितः ।
तम् अब्रुवन् सुराः सर्वे समभिष्टूय संनताः ॥ ॥१-१५-१८॥
Brahmaṇā ca samāgamya tatra tasthau samāhitaḥ |
Tam abruvan surāḥ sarve samabhiṣṭūya saṃnatāḥ ॥1-15-18॥
Translation
Having met with Brahma, he stood there with a focused mind. Then all the Devas, having praised him and bowing down, spoke to him.
हिंदी अनुवाद
ब्रह्मा जी से मिलकर वे (विष्णु) वहां एकाग्रचित्त होकर स्थिति हो गए। तब सभी देवताओं ने नतमस्तक होकर और उनकी स्तुति करके उनसे कहा।
English Commentary
Vishnu observes the protocol by first acknowledging Brahma. He stands samāhitaḥ—composed and attentive. Despite his supremacy, the interaction is formal and respectful of the assembly convened by Brahma. The Devas, recognizing their savior has arrived, perform the dual act of praise (samabhiṣṭūya) and physical submission (saṃnatāḥ) before presenting their petition. This sets the scene for the formal request for the Avatar.

विष्णु जी ने मर्यादा का पालन करते हुए सभा के अध्यक्ष ब्रह्मा जी से भेंट की और 'समाहितः' (शांत/एकाग्र) होकर खड़े हो गए। यद्यपि वे 'जगत्पति' हैं, फिर भी वैदिक शिष्टाचार में पदानुक्रम (hierarchy) का सम्मान दिखाया गया है। देवता, जो अपनी विपत्ति सुनाने के लिए तैयार हैं, पहले विष्णु की स्तुति करते हैं और झुककर ('संनताः') अपनी बात प्रारंभ करते हैं। अब अगले श्लोकों में देवता विष्णु से अवतार लेने का निवेदन करेंगे।
