त्वाम् नियोक्ष्यामहे विष्णो लोकानाम् हित काम्यया ।
राज्ञो दशरथस्य त्वम् अयोध्य अधिपतेः विभोः ॥ ॥१-१५-१९॥
Tvām niyokṣyāmahe Viṣṇo lokānām hita kāmyayā । Rājño Daśarathasya tvam Ayodhyā adhipateḥ vibhoḥ ॥ ॥1-15-19॥
Translation
O Vishnu! Desiring the welfare of the worlds, we beseech You to undertake a mission. Please incarnate as the son of King Dasharatha, the powerful Lord of Ayodhya.
हिंदी अनुवाद
हे विष्णु! लोकों के कल्याण की कामना से हम आपको एक कार्य में नियोजित (प्रार्थना) करते हैं। आप अयोध्या के स्वामी, समर्थ राजा दशरथ के पुत्र के रूप में अवतार लें।
English Commentary
The Devas are not merely praying but appointing (niyoga) Lord Vishnu to a specific task for the universal good. This highlights the intimate relationship between the Devas and the Preserver, where they can rightfully ask Him to intervene. The choice of Dasharatha is specific; he is the ruler of Ayodhya and described as Vibhoh (powerful/capable). The divine plan is set in motion here: the Supreme Consciousness must descend into the lineage of a capable earthly king to restore balance.

देवतागण भगवान विष्णु से केवल प्रार्थना नहीं कर रहे, बल्कि एक विशिष्ट ‘नियोग’ (कार्यभार) सौंप रहे हैं। यह विष्णु और देवताओं के बीच के घनिष्ठ संबंध को दर्शाता है जहाँ जगत के पालनहार से अधिकारपूर्वक जगत-कल्याण की मांग की जा रही है। राजा दशरथ का चयन इसलिए किया गया है क्योंकि वे अयोध्या के अधिपति हैं और ‘विभु’ (समर्थ) हैं। यहाँ देवताओं की योजना स्पष्ट है—परमात्मा को एक मानव राजा के घर जन्म लेना होगा। यह श्लोक रामावतार की आधारशिला रखता है, जहाँ दिव्यता मानवता का चोला पहनने को तैयार होती है।
