Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
वधाय देव शतॄणाम् नृणाम् लोके मनः कुरु ।
एवम् स्तुतस्तु देवेशो विष्णुः त्रिदशः पुंगवः ॥ ॥१-१५-२६॥
Vadhāya deva śatṟūṇām nṛṇām loke manaḥ kuru । Evam stutastu deveśo Viṣṇuḥ tridaśaḥ puṅgavaḥ ॥ ॥1-15-26॥
Translation
O Lord! Please set your mind on destroying the enemies of the gods in the world of men. Being thus praised, Vishnu, the Lord of Gods and the foremost of the immortals, (responded).
हिंदी अनुवाद
हे देव! मनुष्यों के लोक में (अवतार लेकर) देव-शत्रुओं के वध के लिए अपना मन बनाइये (संकल्प लीजिये)। इस प्रकार स्तुति किये जाने पर, देवताओं में श्रेष्ठ भगवान विष्णु ने (उनकी बात सुनी)।
English Commentary
The Devas make their final concrete plea: Manah kuru (fix your mind/resolve) to kill the enemies in the mortal world. They specifically request action in the Nrinam Loke (world of men). Vishnu is addressed as Tridasha Pungava (The Bull/Foremost among the Thirty Gods/Immortals), signifying his supremacy. The petition concludes, and the focus shifts to the Divine response.

देवता अंतिम बार आग्रह करते हैं—‘मनः कुरु’ (अपना मन बनाइये/संकल्प लीजिये)। वे चाहते हैं कि विष्णु मृत्युलोक (पृथ्वी) को अपनी कर्मभूमि बनाएँ। ‘त्रिदश पुंगव’ (देवताओं में बैल/श्रेष्ठ) विष्णु के लिए प्रयुक्त हुआ है, जो उनकी शक्ति और नेतृत्व को दर्शाता है। यहाँ संवाद समाप्त होता है और अब भगवान की प्रतिक्रिया का समय है।
