Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
तमेव हत्वा स बलम् स बान्धवम् विरावणम् रावणम् उग्र पौरुषम् ।
स्वर् लोकम् आगच्छ गत ज्वरः चिरम् सुरेन्द्र गुप्तम् गत दोष कल्मषम् ॥ ॥१-१५-३४॥
Tameva hatvā sa balam sa bāndhavam Virāvaṇam Rāvaṇam ugra pauruṣam । Svar lokam āgaccha gata jvaraḥ ciram Surendra guptam gata doṣa kalmaṣam ॥ ॥1-15-34॥
Translation
"Having killed that Ravana of terrible prowess, who makes people cry, along with his army and kinsmen, may You return to the heavenly abode—freed from the fever (of anxiety), devoid of sins, and protected by the King of Gods."
हिंदी अनुवाद
"उस भयानक पौरुष वाले और सबको रुलाने वाले रावण को उसकी सेना और भाई-बंधुओं सहित मारकर, आप अपने मानसिक संताप (ज्वर) से मुक्त होकर, पाप-दोष से रहित और इंद्र द्वारा सुरक्षित स्वर्ग लोक में (पुनः) पधारें।"
English Commentary
The Devas visualize the successful completion of the mission. They ask Vishnu to return gata-jvaraḥ (fever-free), implying that the existence of such evil is a feverish agitation even for the Divine. They invite Him back to the celestial realm after the deed. The phrase Surendra guptam (protected by Indra) refers to the security of the heaven to which they welcome Him back, symbolizing a return to peace after the turbulent task on earth.

देवतागण 'मिशन' के अंत की कल्पना कर रहे हैं। वे विष्णु से कहते हैं कि कार्य पूर्ण करके आप 'गत ज्वरः' (बुखार/संताप से मुक्त) होकर वापस आएं। यह श्लोक बताता है कि पृथ्वी पर अधर्म का भार भगवान के लिए भी एक प्रकार का 'ज्वर' (मानसिक कष्ट) है। 'सुरेन्द्र गुप्तम्' (इन्द्र द्वारा रक्षित) कहना स्वर्ग की महिमा है, विष्णु की नहीं, क्योंकि विष्णु तो स्वयं सबके रक्षक हैं; यह देवताओं का विनम्र निमंत्रण है।
