ऋषीन् यक्षान् स गन्धर्वान् असुरान् ब्राह्मणान् तथा ।
अतिक्रामति दुर्धर्षो वर दानेन मोहितः ॥ ॥१-१५-९॥
Ṛṣīn yakṣān sa gandharvān asurān brāhmaṇān tathā |
Atikrāmati durdharṣo vara dānena mohitaḥ ॥1-15-9॥
Translation
That invincible Ravana, intoxicated by the power of the boon, transgresses against sages, Yakshas, Gandharvas, Asuras, and Brahmins.

वह दुर्धर्ष (जिसे हराना कठिन हो) रावण, वरदान के प्रभाव से मोहित (अहंकारी) होकर ऋषियों, यक्षों, गन्धर्वों, असुरों और ब्राह्मणों का अपमान और उत्पीड़न करता है।
English Commentary
This verse illustrates the corrupting nature of unchecked power. Ravana is described as mohitaḥ (deluded/intoxicated) by the boon he received. He spares no one—not the celestial beings (Gandharvas), not his own kind (Asuras), nor the spiritual guides (Rishis/Brahmins). By transgressing against the holy men, he is dismantling the moral order (Dharma). The term durdharṣo implies he has become unassailable, making his tyranny absolute and leaving the victims with no recourse but divine intervention.

यह श्लोक सत्ता के मद का वर्णन करता है। रावण केवल देवताओं का ही नहीं, बल्कि सृष्टि के अन्य सभी प्रभावशाली वर्गों—यक्ष, गन्धर्व और यहाँ तक कि असुरों (जो उसकी अपनी जाति के समान हैं)—का भी दमन कर रहा है। 'वर दानेन मोहितः' वाक्यांश अत्यंत महत्वपूर्ण है; यह बताता है कि शक्ति स्वयं बुरी नहीं होती, लेकिन अहंकार (मोह) उस शक्ति को विनाशकारी बना देता है। रावण ऋषियों और ब्राह्मणों को सताकर धर्म की नींव पर प्रहार कर रहा है, जो उसके विनाश का कारण बनेगा।
