समवेक्ष्य अब्रवीत् वाक्यम् इदम् दशरथम् नृपम् ।
प्राजापत्यम् नरम् विद्धि माम् इह अभ्यागतम् नृप ॥ ॥१-१६-१६॥
samavekṣya abravīt vākyam idam daśaratham nṛpam |
prājāpatyam naram viddhi mām iha abhyāgatam nṛpa ॥1-16-16॥
Translation
Looking directly at King Dasharatha, he spoke these words: "O King, know me to be the Prajapatya Nara (a person sent by the Lord of Creation) who has arrived here."

उस पुरुष ने राजा दशरथ की ओर दृष्टि डालकर उनसे यह वचन कहा: "हे राजन! मुझे यहाँ आया हुआ प्रजापति का भेजा हुआ पुरुष (प्राजापत्य नर) जानो।"
English Commentary
Here, the divine being establishes his identity and authority. By addressing King Dasharatha directly, he validates the King's role as the Yajamana (the patron of the sacrifice). Identifying himself as Prajapatya Nara implies he is an emissary of Prajapati, the Lord of Creation. In Vedic context, the appearance of a deity or their messenger at the culmination of a Yajna is the ultimate sign of success. It signifies that the barrier between the mortal and divine planes has been dissolved by the power of the mantras and oblations. For Dasharatha, this declaration transforms hope into certainty—his prayers have reached the highest echelons of the cosmos.

यहाँ वह दिव्य पुरुष अपना परिचय देता है। वह सीधे राजा दशरथ को संबोधित करता है, जो यजमान (यज्ञ करने वाले) हैं। 'प्राजापत्यम् नरम्' का अर्थ है प्रजापति (ब्रह्मा) से संबंधित या उनका दूत। यज्ञ की पूर्णाहुति के समय साक्षात देवदूत का प्रकट होना और अपना परिचय देना इस बात का प्रमाण है कि यज्ञ पूर्णतः सफल हुआ है। यह क्षण दशरथ के जीवन का सबसे महत्वपूर्ण क्षण है, क्योंकि जिस उद्देश्य के लिए उन्होंने कठिन तप और अश्वमेध यज्ञ किया था, उसका फल अब साक्षात उनके सामने खड़ा है। उस पुरुष की वाणी में गंभीरता और अधिकार है, जो राजा को आश्वस्त करती है कि यह कोई साधारण घटना नहीं, बल्कि दैवीय हस्तक्षेप है।
