सिंह शार्दूल सदृशा दर्पेण च बलेन च ।
शिला प्रहरणाः सर्वे सर्वे पर्वत योधिनः ॥ ॥१-१७-२५॥
Siṃha śārdūla sadṛśā darpeṇa ca balena ca । Śilā praharaṇāḥ sarve sarve parvata yodhinaḥ ॥ ॥1-17-25॥
Translation
In pride and strength, they resembled lions and tigers. They all used rocks as weapons and fought using mountains/trees.

वे सभी दर्प (गर्व/स्वाभिमान) और बल में सिंह और बाघ के समान थे। वे सभी शिलाओं (चट्टानों) से प्रहार करने वाले और पर्वतों से युद्ध करने वाले थे।
English Commentary
This verse depicts the feral majesty and combat style of the Vanaras. Comparisons to lions and tigers denote fearlessness and regality (Darpa). Unlike human armies equipped with forged steel, these warriors were Shila praharanah (strikers with stones) and Parvata yodhinah (fighters with mountains). This highlights their raw, primal power—they didn't need artificial weapons; they weaponized the landscape itself.

यहाँ वानरों की युद्ध-शैली और स्वभाव का वर्णन है। उनका 'दर्प' (स्वाभिमान) शेरों जैसा था—वे किसी के आगे झुकने वाले नहीं थे। 'शिला प्रहरणाः' और 'पर्वत योधिनः' उनकी युद्ध तकनीक को बताते हैं। उनके पास धनुष-बाण या तलवारें नहीं थीं; प्रकृति ही उनका शस्त्रागार थी। वे बड़ी-बड़ी चट्टानों और पहाड़ों के शिखरों को उखाड़कर शत्रुओं पर फेंकते थे, जो उनकी अमानवीय शारीरिक शक्ति का प्रमाण है।
