शतम् शत सहस्राणि यूथपानाम् महात्मनाम् ।
ते प्रधानेषु यूथेषु हरीणाम् हरियूथपाः ॥ ॥१-१७-३०॥
Śatam śata sahasrāṇi yūthapānām mahātmanām । Te pradhāneṣu yūtheṣu harīṇām hariyūthapāḥ ॥ ॥1-17-30॥
Translation
Hundreds of thousands of such high-souled commanders (Yuthapas) were born. They became the leaders of the principal troops of the monkeys.
हिंदी अनुवाद
ऐसे सौ-सौ हजार (लाखों) महात्मा यूथपति (सेनानायक) उत्पन्न हुए। वे वानरों के प्रमुख यूथों (टुकड़ियों) के स्वामी/नायक बने।
English Commentary
This verse deals with the scale and organization of the force. It mentions Shatam shata sahasrani (hundreds of thousands) of Yuthapas (troop leaders). This distinction is vital; it suggests a structured military hierarchy. यहाँ सेना की संरचना (Hierarchy) स्पष्ट की गई है। केवल सैनिक ही नहीं, बल्कि लाखों की संख्या में 'यूथपति' (Commanders/Generals) जन्मे। 'महात्मनाम्' विशेषण बताता है कि ये नेता केवल बलवान ही नहीं, बल्कि महान आत्मा वाले और नीतिज्ञ भी थे। यह एक व्यवस्थित सेना थी, न कि अनियंत्रित भीड़। हर टुकड़ी का अपना एक नायक था।
