तैः मेघ बृन्दाचल कूट संनिभैः महाबलैः वानर यूथप अधिपैः ।
बभूव भूः भीम शरीर रूपैः समावृता राम सहाय हेतोः ॥ ॥१-१७-३७॥
Taiḥ megha bṛndācala kūṭa saṃnibhaiḥ Mahābalaiḥ vānara yūthapa adhipaiḥ । Babhūva bhūḥ bhīma śarīra rūpaiḥ Samāvṛtā Rāma sahāya hetoḥ ॥ ॥1-17-37॥
Translation
The earth was completely covered by these mighty Vanara commanders, who resembled masses of clouds and mountain peaks, and possessed terrifying bodies—all for the sake of helping Rama.

बादलों के समूह और पर्वत शिखरों के समान विशाल, महाबली तथा भयानक शरीर वाले उन वानर यूथपतियों (सेनानायकों) से यह पृथ्वी 'राम की सहायता के लिए' (राम सहाय हेतोः) पूरी तरह ढक गई।
English Commentary
This concluding verse of Canto 17 is teleologically significant. It explicitly states the raison d'être of the Vanara race: Rama sahaya hetoh (for the purpose of helping Rama). The imagery is grand—comparing the warriors to cloud masses and mountain peaks—signifying their overwhelming power and size. It ties the celestial intervention (birth of Vanaras) directly to the central plot of the Ramayana, reassuring the reader that the forces of Dharma have been marshaled and are ready for the Avatar's command.
