Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
ते तथा उक्ताः भगवता तत् प्रति श्रुत्य शासनम् ।
जनयामासुः एवम् ते पुत्रान् वानर रूपिणः ॥ ॥१-१७-८॥
te tathā uktāḥ bhagavatā tat prati śrutya śāsanam |
janayāmāsuḥ evam te putrān vānara rūpiṇaḥ ॥1-17-8॥
Translation
Addressed thus by the Lord (Brahma), those gods accepted the command and accordingly generated sons in the guise of monkeys.
हिंदी अनुवाद
भगवान (ब्रह्मा) के द्वारा इस प्रकार कहे जाने पर, उन देवताओं ने उस आदेश को शिरोधार्य किया और (विभिन्न देवियों/वानरियों के गर्भ से) वानर रूपी पुत्रों को उत्पन्न किया।
English Commentary
This verse marks the execution of the divine command. The gods accepted the Shasanam (decree/order) without hesitation. It signifies the mobilization of the celestial hierarchy to support the Avatar on earth. The phrase Janayamasuh (they generated/procreated) indicates a collective effort. The gods transferred their energies into the specified wombs to birth the Vanara Rupinah (monkey-formed heroes), setting the stage for the Great War.
हिंदी टीका
देवताओं की तत्परता यहाँ दिखाई गई है। 'तत् प्रति श्रुत्य शासनम्' का अर्थ है आदेश को सुनकर उसे स्वीकार करना। देवताओं ने ब्रह्मा की योजना पर कोई प्रश्न नहीं उठाया क्योंकि वे जानते थे कि यह उनके हित ('नो हितैषिणः') के लिए ही है। उन्होंने अपने-अपने अंशों (Tejas) का उपयोग करके वानर संतानों को जन्म दिया। यह श्लोक उस प्रक्रिया का आरंभ है जिससे रामायण के प्रसिद्ध पात्र—सुग्रीव, हनुमान, अंगद आदि—अस्तित्व में आए।
