समाप्त दीक्षा नियमः पत्नी गण समन्वितः ।
प्रविवेश पुरीम् राजा स भृत्य बल वाहनः ॥ ॥१-१८-२॥
Samāpta dīkṣā niyamaḥ patnī gaṇa samanvitaḥ । Praviveśa purīm rājā sa bhṛtya bala vāhanaḥ ॥ ॥1-18-2॥
Translation
Having concluded the vows of consecration (Diksha), the King entered the city accompanied by his wives, servants, army, and vehicles.
हिंदी अनुवाद
दीक्षा के नियमों को समाप्त करके, राजा दशरथ ने अपनी रानियों, सेवकों, सेना और वाहनों के साथ (अयोध्या) पुरी में प्रवेश किया।
English Commentary
This verse signifies the return to normalcy and regal splendor. The King steps out of the austere Diksha (consecrated state for the ritual) and re-enters his capital. The mention of his retinue—wives, servants, army, and vehicles—paints a picture of a grand procession returning home triumphant. It emphasizes Dasharatha's role not just as a sacrificer, but as a beloved King surrounded by his people and family, awaiting the divine blessing.

यज्ञ के दौरान राजा को कठोर 'दीक्षा' नियमों का पालन करना होता था। अब यज्ञ समाप्ति पर वे उन नियमों से मुक्त होकर सामान्य राजसी जीवन में लौट रहे हैं। 'पत्नी गण समन्वितः' दर्शाता है कि रानियाँ (कौशल्या, सुमित्रा, कैकेयी) भी इस धार्मिक कार्य में बराबर की भागीदार थीं। यह 'नगर प्रवेश' एक उत्सव जैसा है, जो भविष्य में आने वाली खुशियों (राम जन्म) की पूर्वपीठिका है।
