संभ्रान्त मनसः सर्वे तेन वाक्येन चोदिताः ।
ते गत्वा राज भवनम् विश्वामित्रम् ऋषिम् तदा ॥१-१८-४१॥
saṃbhrānta manasaḥ sarve tena vākyena coditāḥ |
te gatvā rāja bhavanam viśvāmitram ṛṣim tadā ॥1-18-41॥
Translation
Urged by those words, all of them, with agitated minds, went to the royal palace and then (announced) the Sage Vishvamitra.

उस वाक्य से प्रेरित होकर वे सभी घबराए हुए मन से राजभवन गए और (राजा को) ऋषि विश्वामित्र के (आने की सूचना दी)।
English Commentary
The psychological state of the guards is described as sambhranta manasah (agitated or awestruck minds). This isn't just respect; it's dread of the sage's notorious temper. Vishvamitra was known for cursing even gods if displeased. Being 'urged' (codita) by his words implies the sheer force of his command. They rush to the inner sanctum to deliver the news. This underscores the cultural hierarchy where the spiritual power of a Brahmin/Rishi commanded immediate attention from the temporal power of the Kshatriya court.
