Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
कर्ता च अहम् अशेषेण दैवतम् हि भवान् मम।
मम च अयम् अनुप्राप्तो महान् अभ्युदयो द्विज।
तव आगमन जः कृत्स्नो धर्मः च अनुत्तमो द्विज ॥१-१८-५८॥
Kartā ca aham aśeṣeṇa daivatam hi bhavān mama। Mama ca ayam anuprāpto mahān abhyudayo dvija। Tava āgamana jaḥ kṛtsno dharmaḥ ca anuttamo dvija॥ ॥1-18-58॥
Translation
I shall execute it entirely, for you are my deity. O Brahmin, this is a great elevation attained by me. Through your arrival, I have gained the complete and unsurpassed merit of Dharma.
हिंदी अनुवाद
मैं उस कार्य को पूर्ण रूप से (बिना कुछ शेष छोड़े) करूँगा, क्योंकि आप मेरे लिए देवता समान हैं। हे द्विज! आपका आना मेरे लिए महान उन्नति (अभ्युत्थान) है और इससे मुझे संपूर्ण तथा सर्वोत्तम धर्म का फल प्राप्त हुआ है।
English Commentary
This is Dasharatha's closing vow in the 18th Sarga. He promises to fulfill the request 'aseshena' (entirely/without remainder). Elevating the Sage to the status of a personal deity ('daivatam'), he views this opportunity not as a burden but as 'mahan abhyudaya'—a supreme rising of his fortune. He believes that the mere act of the Sage arriving and commanding him grants him the highest merit ('anuttamo dharmah'). This reflects the King's absolute trust and his belief that serving the enlightened is the shortcut to spiritual fulfillment.
हिंदी टीका
यह अठारहवें सर्ग का अंतिम संवाद है। दशरथ प्रतिज्ञा करते हैं—'अशेषेण' (पूर्णतया)। वे विश्वामित्र को अपना 'दैवतम्' (इष्टदेव) मानते हैं। वैदिक संस्कृति में अतिथि और गुरु को ईश्वर तुल्य माना गया है। दशरथ कहते हैं कि ऋषि का आना उनके लिए 'महान अभ्युदय' (great prosperity) है। यहाँ अभ्युदय का अर्थ केवल धन नहीं, बल्कि आध्यात्मिक उत्कर्ष है। राजा को विश्वास है कि ऋषि की आज्ञा पालन से उन्हें वह सारा पुण्य ('कृत्स्नो धर्मः') मिल जाएगा जो बड़े-बड़े यज्ञों से मिलता है। यह पूर्ण समर्पण की स्थिति है।
