नक्क्षत्रे अदिति दैवत्ये स्व उच्छ संस्थेषु पंचसु ।
ग्रहेषु कर्कटे लग्ने वाक्पता इंदुना सह ॥ ॥१-१८-९॥
nakṣatre aditi daivatye sva uccha saṃstheṣu paṃcasu । graheṣu karkaṭe lagne vākpatā iṃdunā saha ॥ ॥1-18-9॥
Translation
The prevailing star was Punarvasu (presided over by Aditi); five planets were in their exalted positions. The ascendant was Cancer (Karkata), and Jupiter was conjunction with the Moon.

उस समय 'पुनर्वसु' नक्षत्र था (जिसकी स्वामिनी अदिति हैं), पाँच ग्रह अपने उच्च स्थानों (Exaltation) में स्थित थे। कर्क लग्न था और बृहस्पति (वाक्पति) चंद्रमा के साथ विराजमान थे।
English Commentary
This is a technically dense astrological verse confirming the divinity of the birth. The alignment described is incredibly rare: five planets in exaltation (uccha) signifies a being of supreme power and destiny. The star Punarvasu (Return of the Light) presided by Aditi (Mother of Gods) aligns with the arrival of God on earth. The conjunction of Jupiter and Moon in Cancer ascendant indicates wisdom, benevolence, and royal status. These planetary positions are traditionally cited to prove that Rama possessed the characteristics of a Mahapurusha (Great Being) from the very moment of birth.
