मामकैः वा बलैः ब्रह्मन् मया वा कूट योधिनाम् ।
सर्वम् मे शंस Bhagavan कथम् तेषाम् मया रणे॥ ॥१-२०-१४॥
Māmakaiḥ vā balaiḥ brahman mayā vā kūṭa yodhinām । Sarvam me śaṃsa bhagavan katham teṣām mayā raṇe॥ ॥1-20-14॥
Translation
O Brahman, how can my forces or I myself fight in battle against those deceitful fighters? O Lord, tell me everything.
हिंदी अनुवाद
हे भगवन! हे ब्राह्मण! कूट युद्ध (मायावी युद्ध) करने वाले उन राक्षसों से मेरी सेना अथवा मैं स्वयं युद्ध में कैसे निपटेंगे? मुझे सब बताइए।
English Commentary
Dasharatha reiterates the threat of Kuta Yodhinam (deceitful fighters). He asks for a tactical briefing on how he or his forces (mamakaih balaih) can neutralize such magic. Significantly, he frames the question around himself fighting ("How can I fight them?"), signaling that in his mind, he has already decided to go in Rama's place. He seeks full disclosure (sarvam me shamsa) from the Sage to prepare for the inevitable conflict he intends to shoulder alone.

दशरथ पुनः 'कूट योधिनाम्' (छल से लड़ने वाले) शब्द का प्रयोग करते हैं, जो उनके डर का मुख्य कारण है। वे पूछते हैं कि उनकी सेना या वे स्वयं उनका सामना कैसे कर पाएंगे। ध्यान दें कि दशरथ यहाँ राम का नाम नहीं लेते, बल्कि 'मया' (मेरे द्वारा) कहते हैं। वे मानकर चल रहे हैं कि युद्ध उन्हें ही लड़ना है। वे विश्वामित्र से पूरी जानकारी ('सर्वम् मे शंस') मांग रहे हैं ताकि वे अपनी रणनीति तैयार कर सकें।
