निर्विघ्ना व्रत चर्या सा भविष्यति सुरक्षिता ।
अहम् तत्र आगमिष्यामि न रामम् नेतुम् अर्हसि ॥ ॥१-२०-६॥
Nirvighnā vrata caryā sā bhaviṣyati surakṣitā । Aham tatra āgamiṣyāmi na rāmam netum arhasi ॥ ॥1-20-6॥
Translation
That observance of your vow will be unobstructed and well-protected. I will come there myself; you ought not to take Rama.
हिंदी अनुवाद
आपके व्रत का अनुष्ठान निर्विघ्न और सुरक्षित पूरा होगा। मैं (स्वयं) वहां आऊंगा, (किंतु) आप राम को ले जाने का आग्रह न करें।
English Commentary
The King focuses on the Sage's objective: the successful completion of the Yajna. He guarantees that the vrata charya (observance of vows) will be surakshita (well-protected) under his watch. Dasharatha tries to separate the "goal" (demon disposal) from the "means" (Rama). He argues that as long as the Sage's ritual is protected, the instrument of that protection should be the King's choice. The repetition of "do not take Rama" acts as a desperate refrain in his speech.

दशरथ यहाँ परिणाम की गारंटी दे रहे हैं। ऋषि का मुख्य उद्देश्य यज्ञ की 'निर्विघ्न' (बिना बाधा के) समाप्ति है, और दशरथ वादा करते हैं कि वे इसे सुनिश्चित करेंगे। वे बार-बार 'न रामम् नेतुम् अर्हसि' (राम को ले जाना उचित नहीं) दोहरा रहे हैं, जो अब एक विनती से बढ़कर एक हठ बन गया है। राजा का तर्क है कि यदि कार्य (यज्ञ रक्षा) मेरे द्वारा सिद्ध हो सकता है, तो बालक राम को जोखिम में डालने की क्या आवश्यकता है?
