Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
सर्व अस्त्राणि कृशाश्वस्य पुत्राः परम धार्मिकाः ।
कौशिकाय पुरा दत्ता यदा राज्यम् प्रशासति ॥ ॥१-२१-१३॥
Sarva astrāṇi kṛśāśvasya putrāḥ parama dhārmikāḥ |
Kauśikāya purā dattā yadā rājyam praśāsati ॥1-21-13॥
Translation
"All these weapons are the highly righteous sons of Krishashva. They were given to the descendant of Kusha (Vishwamitra) long ago when he was ruling his kingdom."

"वे सभी दिव्यास्त्र 'कृशाश्व' (एक प्रजापति) के परम धार्मिक पुत्र हैं। जब विश्वामित्र (कौशिक) राज्य करते थे, तब पूर्वकाल में वे अस्त्र उन्हें सौंपे गए थे।"
English Commentary
This verse clarifies the nature of divine weapons (Astras). They are not mere physical tools but sentient, righteous entities described as the "sons of Krishashva." Vasistha also provides context: Vishwamitra received these weapons when he was a ruling King (Rajarshi). This proves that Vishwamitra possesses the martial lineage and the royal authority required to wield such power, combining kingly valor with ascetic restraint.

यहाँ अस्त्रों का मानवीकरण (Personification) किया गया है। दिव्यास्त्र केवल लोहे के हथियार नहीं, बल्कि 'चेतन' (sentient) शक्तियां हैं, जिन्हें कृशाश्व के पुत्र कहा गया है। यह श्लोक विश्वामित्र के पूर्व जीवन (जब वे राजा थे) की ओर संकेत करता है। उन्हें ये अस्त्र तब मिले थे जब वे क्षत्रिय राजा के रूप में शासन कर रहे थे, जो यह सिद्ध करता है कि विश्वामित्र के पास इन शक्तियों को नियंत्रित करने का राजसी अधिकार और अनुभव दोनों है।
