Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
रामा इति मधुराम् वाणीम् विश्वामित्रः अभ्यभाषत ।
गृहाण वत्स सलिलम् मा भूत् कालस्य पर्ययः ॥ ॥१-२२-११॥
Rāma iti madhurām vāṇīm viśvāmitraḥ abhyabhāṣata । Gṛhāṇa vatsa salilam mā bhūt kālasya paryayaḥ ॥ ॥1-22-11॥
Translation
Vishwamitra then addressed Rama in a sweet voice, saying, "O Rama! Take water (for purification/Achamana), my child. Let there be no delay in the timing."

तब विश्वामित्र ने मधुर वाणी में संबोधित किया, "हे राम! हे वत्स! (आचमन के लिए) जल ग्रहण करो, समय का उल्लंघन (देरी) न हो।"
English Commentary
This is a pivotal moment of transition from travel to teaching. Vishwamitra, usually feared for his temper, speaks with great affection (madhuram vanim) to Rama, addressing him as Vatsa (dear child). He instructs Rama to perform Achamana (sipping water for ritual purification). The urgency ("let there be no delay") indicates that a specific auspicious moment (Muhurta) has arrived for spiritual transmission. It shows the Guru's eagerness to empower his disciple.
