गृहाण सर्व लोकस्य गुप्तये रघु नन्दन ।
विद्या द्वयम् अधीयाने यशः च अथ भवेत् भुवि ।
पितामह सुते हि एते विद्ये तेजः समन्विते ॥ ॥१-२२-१८॥
Gṛhāṇa sarva lokasya guptaye raghu nandana । Vidyā dvayam adhīyāne yaśaḥ ca atha bhavet bhuvi । Pitāmaha sute hi ete vidye tejaḥ samanvite ॥ ॥1-22-18॥
Translation
"Accept these, O descendant of Raghu, for the protection of the whole world. Reciting these two sciences will bring you renown on earth. Indeed, these brilliant sciences are the daughters of Brahma."
हिंदी अनुवाद
"हे रघुनंदन! सम्पूर्ण जगत की रक्षा के लिए तुम इन्हें ग्रहण करो। इन दोनों विद्याओं के अध्ययन से पृथ्वी पर तुम्हारा यश फैलेगा। ये दोनों तेजोमयी विद्याएं ब्रह्मा जी (पितामह) की पुत्रियां हैं।"
English Commentary
The purpose of power is defined here: Sarva lokasya guptaye (for the protection of the entire world). Vishwamitra frames the transfer of power as a duty, not a privilege. He also establishes the lineage of these mantras—they are the "daughters of Brahma," implying they are primordial, creative energies filled with Tejas (spiritual brilliance), originating from the Creator himself. This legitimizes Rama's use of them as divine sanction.

विश्वामित्र स्पष्ट करते हैं कि शक्ति का उद्देश्य क्या है—'सर्व लोकस्य गुप्तये' (सारे संसार की रक्षा के लिए)। शक्ति व्यक्तिगत भोग के लिए नहीं, बल्कि सेवा के लिए है। इन विद्याओं का उद्गम अत्यंत पवित्र बताया गया है; वे 'पितामह सुते' (ब्रह्मा की पुत्रियां) हैं। इसका अर्थ है कि ये वैदिक परंपरा की सात्विक शक्तियाँ हैं, कोई तामसिक जादू नहीं।
