तदा कुशिक पुत्रम् तु धनुष् पाणी स्वलंकृतौ ।
बद्ध गोध अंगुलि त्राणौ खड्गवन्तौ महाद्युती ॥ ॥१-२२-८॥
Tadā kuśika putram tu dhanuṣ pāṇī svalaṃkṛtau । Baddha godha aṅguli trāṇau khaḍgavantau mahādyutī ॥ ॥1-22-8॥
Translation
At that time, following the son of Kushika (Vishwamitra), the two brothers were well-adorned, holding bows, wearing finger-guards made of iguana skin (Godha), and equipped with swords. They possessed great radiance.

उस समय, कुशिक-पुत्र (विश्वामित्र) के पीछे चलते हुए वे दोनों (राम और लक्ष्मण) सुंदर आभूषणों से अलंकृत थे, हाथों में धनुष थे, उंगलियों की रक्षा के लिए गोह के चमड़े के दस्ताने (गोध) पहने थे और कमर में तलवार बांधी हुई थी। वे महाकान्तिमान लग रहे थे।
