अनङ्ग इति विख्यातः तदा प्रभृति राघव ।
स च अङ्ग विषयः श्रीमान् यत्र अंगम् स मुमोच ह ॥ ॥१-२३-१४॥
anaṅga iti vikhyātaḥ tadā prabhṛti rāghava |
sa ca aṅga viṣayaḥ śrīmān yatra aṃgam sa mumoca ha ॥1-23-14॥
Translation
O Raghava! From that time forward, he became renowned as 'Ananga' (the Bodiless). And that prosperous region where he gave up his body became known as the 'Anga' province.

हे राघव! तभी से वह 'अनंग' नाम से विख्यात हुआ। जहाँ उसने अपने अंग (शरीर) त्यागे थे, वह सुंदर देश 'अंग' (अंग देश) के नाम से प्रसिद्ध हुआ।
