Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
तस्य अयम् आश्रमः पुण्यः तस्य इमे मुनयः पुरा ।
शिष्या धर्मपरा वीर तेषाम् पापम् न विद्यते ॥ ॥१-२३-१५॥
tasya ayam āśramaḥ puṇyaḥ tasya ime munayaḥ purā |
śiṣyā dharmaparā vīra teṣām pāpam na vidyate ॥1-23-15॥
Translation
This is His (Shiva's) holy hermitage. In ancient times, these sages were His disciples. O Hero! They are devoted to righteousness, and no sin exists in them.
हिंदी अनुवाद
यह उन्हीं (शिव) का पवित्र आश्रम है। प्राचीन काल में ये मुनि उन्हीं के शिष्य थे। हे वीर! ये सभी धर्म-परायण हैं और इनमें कोई पाप नहीं है।
English Commentary
Vishwamitra assures Rama of the sanctity of their location, noting it was once Shiva's own hermitage. The sages residing there belong to Shiva's lineage of disciples, rendering them sinless and strictly devoted to Dharma. Addressing Rama as "Vira" (Hero), Vishwamitra acknowledges his valor. The commentary highlights the spiritual purity of the ashram, suggesting that proximity to such holy lineage eradicates sin and fear.

विश्वामित्र राम को आश्वस्त कर रहे हैं कि वे जिस स्थान पर हैं, वह अत्यंत पवित्र है क्योंकि वह स्वयं भगवान शिव का स्थान रहा है। वहाँ रहने वाले ऋषि-मुनि शिवजी के शिष्य परंपरा के हैं, अतः वे निष्पाप और धर्मनिष्ठ हैं। "वीर" शब्द से राम को संबोधित कर विश्वामित्र उनके क्षत्रिय तेज को जगा रहे हैं। यह सत्संग और पवित्र स्थान के प्रभाव को दर्शाता है, जहाँ पाप का अस्तित्व नहीं होता।
