तत्र आश्रम पदम् पुण्यम् ऋषीणाम् भाविअत आत्मानाम् ।
बहु वर्ष सहस्राणि तप्यताम् परमम् तपः ॥ ॥१-२३-६॥
Tatra āśrama padam puṇyam ṛṣīṇām bhāviata ātmānām । Bahu varṣa sahasrāṇi tapyatām paramam tapaḥ ॥ ॥1-23-6॥
Translation
There, at that confluence, they saw a holy hermitage belonging to sages of realized souls, who had been performing supreme penance for many thousands of years.

वहाँ (संगम पर) उन्होंने एक पवित्र आश्रम देखा, जहां जितात्मा (शुद्ध अंतःकरण वाले) ऋषिगण कई हजार वर्षों से परम तपस्या कर रहे थे।
English Commentary
The atmosphere of the location is described as spiritually charged. It was an ancient hermitage inhabited by Bhavita-atmanam (souls who have meditated upon and realized the Self). The mention of "thousands of years" of penance emphasizes that the sanctity of the place is built upon eons of spiritual practice, making it a powerhouse of ascetic energy.

संगम के तट पर स्थित उस आश्रम की दिव्यता का वर्णन है। "भावित आत्मानाम्" उन ऋषियों के लिए कहा गया है जिन्होंने अपनी आत्मा को शुद्ध कर लिया है। "बहु वर्ष सहस्राणि" (कई हजार साल) यह दर्शाता है कि यह स्थान प्राचीन काल से तपोभूमि रहा है। ऐसे स्थानों का वातावरण (vibrations) अत्यंत शक्तिशाली और शांत होता है, जो राम को आकर्षित करता है।
