Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
राक्षसो भैरव आकारो नित्यम् त्रासयते प्रजाः ।
इमौ जनपदौ नित्यम् विनाशयति राघव ॥ ॥१-२४-२८॥
Rākṣaso bhairava ākāro nityam trāsayate prajāḥ । Imau janapadau nityam vināśayati rāghav ॥ ॥1-24-28॥
Translation
O Raghava, that Rakshasa of terrifying form creates terror among the subjects daily and perpetually destroys these two districts.

हे राघव! वह भयानक आकार वाला राक्षस प्रतिदिन प्रजा को डराता है और इन दोनों जनपदों (मलद और करूष) का नित्य विनाश करता रहता है।
English Commentary
The description focuses on the impact of the demons on the populace. The term Bhairava akaro implies a form that induces fear merely by sight. Vishvamitra emphasizes the frequency of the attacks—Nityam (daily/perpetually). This is not a one-time event but an ongoing occupation and destruction of the land. By addressing Rama as Raghava, the Sage is subtly invoking the prince's lineage and his inherent duty (Dharma) to protect the citizenry from such tyranny.

विश्वामित्र यहाँ समस्या के मूल को स्पष्ट कर रहे हैं। मारीच और ताड़का केवल जंगल में नहीं रहते, बल्कि वे सक्रिय रूप से 'विनाश' कर रहे हैं। राजा का धर्म है 'प्रजा रक्षण'। विश्वामित्र राम को 'राघव' कहकर उनके कुल की याद दिलाते हैं, मानो कह रहे हों कि रघुकुल के होने के नाते इन प्रजाओं की रक्षा करना तुम्हारा दायित्व है। 'नित्यम्' (प्रतिदिन) शब्द बताता है कि यह आतंक कभी रुकता नहीं है, यह एक निरंतर चलने वाली आपदा है।
