अथ तस्य अप्रमेयस्य मुनेर् वचनम् उत्तमम् ।
श्रुत्वा पुरुष शार्दूलः प्रत्युवाच शुभाम् गिरम् ॥ ॥१-२५-१॥
Atha tasya aprameyasya muner vacanam uttamam । Śrutvā puruṣa śārdūlaḥ pratyuvāca śubhām giram ॥ ॥1-25-1॥
Translation
Then, hearing the excellent words of that immeasurable Sage, the Tiger among men (Rama) replied with auspicious speech.
हिंदी अनुवाद
तदनन्तर, उस अप्रमेय (जिसकी महिमा का पार न हो) मुनि के उत्तम वचनों को सुनकर 'पुरुष सिंह' राम ने सुंदर (शुभ) वाणी में उत्तर दिया।
English Commentary
Rama is epitomized here as Purusha Shardula (Tiger among men), indicating his latent power and readiness. Despite the heavy command to kill a female, his response is described as Shubham giram (auspicious/beautiful speech). This shows his composure and respect. He listens to the 'immeasurable' (Aprameya) Sage and responds not with blind obedience, but with thoughtful engagement, maintaining the decorum of a disciple.

यहाँ राम को 'पुरुष शार्दूल' (पुरुषों में व्याघ्र/सिंह समान) कहा गया है, जो उनकी वीरता को दर्शाता है। यद्यपि राम को एक स्त्री का वध करने का आदेश मिला है, जो धर्म-संकट हो सकता है, फिर भी वे 'शुभाम् गिरम्' (कल्याणकारी या सुंदर वाणी) ही बोलते हैं। यह राम के चरित्र की महानता है कि वे उत्तेजित नहीं होते, बल्कि विनय और संयम के साथ अपनी शंका प्रस्तुत करते हैं। 'अप्रमेय' विशेषण विश्वामित्र की असीमित शक्ति और ज्ञान के लिए प्रयुक्त हुआ है।
