उद् धुन्वाना रजो घोरम् ताटका राघवौ उभौ ।
रजो मेघेन महता मुहूर्तम् सा व्यमोहयत् ॥ ॥१-२६-१५॥

Raising terrible dust, she confused both the Raghus for a moment with a massive cloud of dust.

उस ताड़का ने भयानक धूल उड़ाते हुए, एक विशाल धूल के बादल से दोनों राघवों को पल भर के लिए मोहित (अंधा/व्याकुल) कर दिया।
English Commentary
Tataka initiates Maya Yuddha (illusion warfare). Realizing direct confrontation might be tricky, she creates a tactical screen by kicking up a massive dust storm (rajo ghoram). She envelops the brothers in a "cloud of dust," momentarily blinding and confusing them (vyamohayat). This signifies the shift from physical combat to supernatural combat. Rama must now rely on senses other than sight, setting the stage for his use of the divine sound-targeting skills (Shabdabhedi skills).

अब ताड़का अपनी 'माया' (जादुई शक्तियों) का प्रयोग शुरू करती है। वह केवल शारीरिक बल से नहीं लड़ रही। उसने घोर धूल की आंधी (रजो मेघ) खड़ी कर दी। युद्ध में दृश्यता (Visibility) समाप्त करना एक पुरानी रणनीति है। राम और लक्ष्मण 'मुहूर्त' (क्षण भर) के लिए 'व्यमोहयत्' (विचलित/दिखना बंद हो जाना) हो गए। यह राम की पहली परीक्षा है कि वे अदृश्य शत्रु से कैसे निपटते हैं। राक्षसी युद्ध में छल-कपट प्रधान होता है।
