Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
काम रूपधरा सा तु कृत्वा रूपाणि अनेकशः ।
अन्तर्धानम् गता यक्षी मोहयन्ति स्व मायया ॥ ॥१-२६-१९॥
kāma rūpadharā sā tu kṛtvā rūpāṇi anekaśaḥ । antardhānam gatā yakṣī mohayanti sva māyayā ॥ ॥1-26-19॥
Translation
She was a shapeshifter (Kamarupa-dhara). Assuming various forms repeatedly and confusing them with her illusion, the Yakshini vanished.
हिंदी अनुवाद
वह यक्षी कामरूपधरा (इच्छानुसार रूप बदलने वाली) थी। वह अनेक प्रकार के रूप बनाकर और अपनी माया से (उन्हें) मोहित करती हुई अंतर्धान (गायब) हो गई।
English Commentary
Physical injuries compel Tataka to use her supernatural reserves. She is Kamarupa-dhara—one who can assume any form at will. Realizing she is outmatched in physical combat, she uses Antardhana (invisibility). This shifts the battle from physical to psychological. By changing forms and disappearing, she attempts to induce paranoia and confusion (mohayanti) in the princes, making them strike at shadows while she prepares her next ambush.

शारीरिक अंग कटने के बाद ताड़का ने भौतिक युद्ध त्याग दिया और पूर्ण रूप से 'मायावी युद्ध' पर उतर आई। 'कामरूपधरा' राक्षसों की एक विशेष शक्ति है जिससे वे कोई भी रूप धारण कर सकते हैं। जब उसे लगा कि वह शारीरिक रूप से हार रही है, तो वह 'अंतर्धान' (Invisible) हो गई। एक अदृश्य शत्रु से लड़ना सबसे कठिन होता है। वह बार-बार रूप बदल रही थी ताकि राम और लक्ष्मण भ्रमित हो जाएं कि असली शत्रु कौन है और कहाँ है।
