Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
विश्वामित्रम् पूजयन् ततः संध्या प्रवर्तते ।
ततो मुनिवरः प्रीतः ताटका वध तोषितः ॥ ॥१-२६-३२॥
viśvāmitram pūjayan tataḥ sandhyā pravartate । tato munivaraḥ prītaḥ tāṭakā vadha toṣitaḥ ॥ ॥1-26-32॥
Translation
The gods honored Vishvamitra, and then twilight set in. The great sage was pleased and satisfied with the slaying of Tadaka.
हिंदी अनुवाद
तत्पश्चात देवताओं ने विश्वामित्र का पूजन (अभिनंदन) किया और संध्याकाल हो गया। ताड़का के वध से संतुष्ट मुनिवर विश्वामित्र अत्यंत प्रसन्न हुए।
English Commentary
Following the high-energy conflict and the glorious appearance of the gods, the narrative settles into the calm of twilight (sandhya). The transition reflects the peace that has descended upon the forest now that the demoness is gone. Vishvamitra is described as toshitah (satisfied). His satisfaction is multifaceted: the immediate threat is removed, the gods have blessed his decision, and his disciple Rama has succeeded. The verse sets a serene atmosphere, contrasting the earlier violence, preparing the reader for the quiet, bonding moments between the teacher and the student.

युद्ध की समाप्ति के बाद शांति का समय आता है। 'संध्या प्रवर्तते' (सांझ घिर आई) एक प्राकृतिक विराम को दर्शाता है। दिन भर के तनाव और संघर्ष के बाद, वन अब शांत है। विश्वामित्र की प्रसन्नता का दोहरा कारण है: एक तो उनके यज्ञ का मार्ग निष्कंटक हो गया ('ताड़का वध तोषितः'), और दूसरा, उनके शिष्य राम की क्षमता सिद्ध हो गई। एक गुरु के लिए इससे बड़ा संतोष नहीं होता जब उसका शिष्य उसकी अपेक्षाओं पर खरा उतरे। यहाँ मुनि की 'प्रीति' वात्सल्य और गर्व का मिश्रण है। यह रात्रि विश्राम से पूर्व की शांतिपूर्ण अवस्था है।
