सोऽहम् पितुर्वचः श्रुत्वा शासनाद् ब्रह्म वादिनः ।
करिष्यामि न संदेहः ताटका वधम् उत्तमम् ॥ ॥१-२६-४॥
so'ham piturvacaḥ śrutvā śāsanād brahma vādinaḥ । kariṣyāmi na saṃdehaḥ tāṭakā vadham uttamam ॥ ॥1-26-4॥
Translation
"So I, having heard the words of my father and by the command of you, the knower of Brahma, will undoubtedly carry out the excellent killing of Tataka."

"वही मैं, पिता के वचन को सुनकर और ब्रह्मवादी (आप) की आज्ञा से, बिना किसी संदेह के ताड़का का उत्तम वध करूँगा।"
English Commentary
The debate concludes with action. Rama accepts the task fully. Interestingly, he qualifies the killing of Tataka as uttamam (excellent/noble). This adjective signifies a shift in perspective: the act is no longer viewed as "killing a woman" but as "eliminating evil." By acknowledging Viswamitra as a Brahma-vadin (one who speaks/knows the Ultimate Truth), Rama validates the sage's moral authority. The transition from hesitation to decisive action is complete.

राम अब अंतिम निर्णय लेते हैं। वे ताड़का वध को 'उत्तमम्' (श्रेष्ठ/उत्तम) कहते हैं। जो कार्य पहले निंदनीय लग रहा था, वह अब धर्म और कर्तव्य की कसौटी पर कसने के बाद 'उत्तम' हो गया है। 'ब्रह्मवादी' शब्द का प्रयोग करके राम यह दर्शाते हैं कि विश्वामित्र सत्य के ज्ञाता हैं, इसलिए उनका निर्णय गलत नहीं हो सकता। अब राम के मन में लेशमात्र भी हिचकिचाहट नहीं है। वे धनुष उठाने के लिए तैयार हैं।
