गो ब्राह्मण हितार्थाय देशस्य च हिताय च ।
तव चैव अप्रमेयस्य वचनम् कर्तुम् उद्यतः ॥ ॥१-२६-५॥
go brāhmaṇa hitārthāya deśasya ca hitāya ca । tava caiva aprameyasya vacanam kartum udyataḥ ॥ ॥1-26-5॥
Translation
"For the welfare of cows and Brahmins, for the good of the country, and to carry out the word of the immeasurable one (you), I am ready to act."

"गो-ब्राह्मणों के हित के लिए, देश के कल्याण के लिए, और आप जैसे अप्रमेय (जिसकी महिमा मापी न जा सके) ऋषि के वचन का पालन करने के लिए, मैं तैयार हूँ।"
English Commentary
Rama succinctly summarizes the motivations of a righteous warrior. The sword is wielded for: 1) Go-Brahmana (symbols of agrarian economy, innocence, and spiritual knowledge), 2) Desha (the physical nation and its populace), and 3) Obedience to the Aprameya (immeasurable) Guru. This triad constitutes the foundation of Vedic heroism. Rama declares himself udyataḥ (ready/uplifted to act), signaling that the philosophical discussion is over and the martial feat is about to begin.

यह श्लोक राम के जीवन के उद्देश्य को परिभाषित करता है। क्षत्रिय का शस्त्र केवल अपने यश के लिए नहीं, बल्कि 'गो-ब्राह्मण' (संस्कृति और ज्ञान के प्रतीक) और 'देश' (समाज और राष्ट्र) की रक्षा के लिए उठता है। राम यहाँ तीन कारण गिनाते हैं: संस्कृति रक्षा, राष्ट्र रक्षा, और गुरु आज्ञा। 'उद्यतः' शब्द उनकी तत्परता को दिखाता है—वे अब केवल मान नहीं रहे, बल्कि उस कार्य को करने के लिए उत्साहित हैं।
