अथ ताम् रजनीम् उष्य विश्वामित्रो महायशाः ।
प्रहस्य राघवम् वाक्यम् उवाच मधुर स्वरम् ॥१-२७-१॥
atha tām rajanīm uṣya viśvāmitro mahāyaśāḥ |
prahasya rāghavam vākyam uvāca madhura svaram ॥1-27-1॥
Translation
Then, having spent that night there, the highly illustrious Vishwamitra, smiling, spoke these words to Raghava in a sweet voice.

तत्पश्चात् उस रात्रि को वहां व्यतीत करके, महायशस्वी विश्वामित्र ने मुस्कुराते हुए राघव (राम) से मधुर स्वर में यह वचन कहा।
English Commentary
This verse introduces a shift in tone from the martial intensity of the previous day to the serene affection of the morning. Vishwamitra, described here as 'Mahayashah' (highly illustrious), addresses Rama not just as a sage to a prince, but as a satisfied mentor to a worthy disciple. The use of 'prahasya' (smiling) and 'madhura svaram' (sweet voice) signifies the Sage's deep gratification with Rama's performance and obedience regarding the slaying of Tataka. It highlights a pivotal moment in the Guru-Shishya relationship where the teacher, convinced of the student's capability and character, prepares to bestow his highest knowledge.
