यद् यद् इच्छसि भद्रन् ते तत् सर्वम् करवाम वै ।
ततो राम प्रसन्न आत्मा तैः इति उक्तो महाबलैः ॥१-२७-२६॥
yad yad icchasi bhadran te tat sarvam karavāma vai |
tato rāma prasanna ātmā taiḥ iti ukto mahābalaiḥ ॥1-27-26॥
Translation
"May prosperity be yours! Whatever you desire, we shall indeed do all that." Addressed thus by those mighty missiles, Rama became pleased in his soul.
हिंदी अनुवाद
"आपका कल्याण हो (भद्रं ते)! आप जो-जो चाहेंगे, वह सब हम अवश्य करेंगे।" उन महाबली अस्त्रों द्वारा ऐसा कहे जाने पर राम का अंतःकरण प्रसन्न हो गया।
English Commentary
The weapons pledge absolute obedience, promising to execute whatever Rama desires (yad yad icchasi). The reciprocal blessing 'bhadram te' from the weapons to the wielder signifies a harmonious relationship, devoid of the friction that often accompanies the acquisition of dangerous power. Rama is described as Prasanna-atma (pleased in soul/mind). This satisfaction stems from the assurance of competence; he now possesses the necessary tools to fulfill his destiny. The reference to the weapons as Mahabalaih (mighty ones) contrasts with their submissive speech, highlighting the paradox of controlled power—immense strength held in check by discipline and service.

अस्त्र राम को आश्वासन देते हैं कि उनकी हर इच्छा का पालन किया जाएगा। 'भद्रं ते' (आपका कल्याण हो) कहकर अस्त्र भी अपने स्वामी को आशीष देते हैं। 'महाबलैः' (महाबली) अस्त्रों की अधीनता स्वीकार करने से राम 'प्रसन्न आत्मा' (प्रसन्न चित्त) हुए। राम की प्रसन्नता अहंकार जनित नहीं है, बल्कि इस संतोष से है कि अब वे अपने कर्तव्य (यज्ञ रक्षा और दुष्ट दमन) को पूर्ण करने में सक्षम हैं। यह श्लोक अस्त्रों और राम के बीच एक 'अनुबंध' (pact) की तरह है, जहाँ पूर्ण आज्ञापालन का वचन दिया गया है। राम का प्रसन्न होना यह भी दर्शाता है कि उन्हें अस्त्रों की दिव्यता और क्षमता का प्रत्यक्ष अनुभव हो गया है।
