ततः प्रीत मना रामो विश्वामित्रम् महामुनिम् ।
अभिवाद्य महातेजा गमनाय उपचक्रमे ॥१-२७-२८॥
tataḥ prīta manā rāmo viśvāmitram mahāmunim |
abhivādya mahātejā gamanāya upacakrame ॥1-27-28॥
Translation
Then, with a pleased mind, the greatly resplendent Rama saluted the great sage Vishwamitra and prepared to proceed [on the journey].

तदनन्तर, प्रसन्न मन वाले और महातेजस्वी राम ने महामुनि विश्वामित्र का अभिवादन किया और आगे जाने के लिए (यात्रा जारी रखने के लिए) उपक्रम किया।
English Commentary
Concluding Sarga 27, this verse depicts the immediate aftermath of the boon. Rama is now Mahateja (of great splendor), his aura amplified by the divine energies he has absorbed. Despite this elevation, his first act is to salute (abhivadya) his Guru, maintaining the protocol of respect. The phrase gamanaya upacakrame (prepared to go/proceed) signals the resumption of the physical journey. The pause for education is over; the application of that education approaches. Rama is now fully equipped for the challenges awaiting him in Vishwamitra's hermitage.

यह सर्ग २७ का अंतिम श्लोक है। अस्त्र प्राप्ति के बाद राम 'महातेजा' (महान तेज वाले) हो गए हैं—अस्त्रों के तेज ने उनके स्वाभाविक तेज को और बढ़ा दिया है। गुरु के प्रति कृतज्ञता व्यक्त करते हुए वे उनका 'अभिवादन' करते हैं। शक्ति पाकर भी विनम्रता न छोड़ना राम का चरित्र है। 'गमनाय उपचक्रमे' (जाने की तैयारी की) दर्शाता है कि विद्या प्राप्ति गंतव्य नहीं, बल्कि गंतव्य (यज्ञ रक्षा) तक पहुँचने का साधन है। वे रुकते नहीं, बल्कि अपने मिशन पर आगे बढ़ते हैं। अब वे सिद्धाश्रम की ओर बढ़ने के लिए तैयार हैं।
