तानि दिव्यानि भद्रम् ते ददामि अस्त्राणि सर्वशः ।
दण्ड चक्रम् महत् दिव्यम् तव दास्यामि राघव ॥१-२७-४॥
tāni divyāni bhadram te dadāmi astrāṇi sarvaśaḥ |
daṇḍa cakram mahat divyam tava dāsyāmi rāghava ॥1-27-4॥
Translation
O Raghava, may prosperity be yours. I offer you those celestial weapons entirely. I shall give you the great and divine Danda Chakra.

हे राघव! तुम्हारा कल्याण हो। मैं तुम्हें वे सभी दिव्य अस्त्र प्रदान करता हूँ। मैं तुम्हें महान दिव्य 'दण्ड चक्र' दूँगा।
English Commentary
This verse marks the beginning of the specific enumeration of the weapons. The repetition of the blessing 'bhadram te' emphasizes the gravity of the transfer; handling such immense power requires spiritual safety and stability. Vishwamitra starts with the 'Danda Chakra.' In Hindu cosmology, Danda (the staff/scepter) represents the power of punishment, justice, and authority, typically associated with Yama (the God of Death/Justice). The Chakra represents the cyclical nature of time and inevitable destruction of unrighteousness. By gifting the 'great and divine' Danda Chakra first, Vishwamitra is metaphorically handing over the authority of cosmic justice to Rama. It signifies that Rama is being appointed as the executor of Dharma, empowered to mete out punishment to those who violate the cosmic order.
