Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
अद्य गच्छामहे राम सिद्धाश्रमम् अनुत्तमम् ।
तत् आश्रम पदम् तात तव अपि एतद् यथा मम ॥ ॥१-२९-२४॥
Adya gacchāmahe rāma siddhāśramam anuttamam । Tat āśrama padam tāta tava api etad yathā mama ॥ ॥1-29-24॥
Translation
Today, O Rama, we shall enter the incomparable Siddhashrama. O Dear One, this hermitage belongs as much to you as it does to me.

हे राम! आज हम उस सर्वोत्तम सिद्धाश्रम में प्रवेश करेंगे। हे तात! वह आश्रम जैसे मेरा है, वैसे ही यह तुम्हारा भी है।
English Commentary
Vishvamitra displays profound affection and inclusivity here. By telling Rama, "This ashram is yours as much as it is mine," he breaks down the barrier between host and guest. He empowers Rama with a sense of ownership (Mamata) over the location. This is psychologically significant; a warrior fights fiercest to protect his own home. By inviting Rama into the Siddhashrama (the incomparable hermitage) as a stakeholder, Vishvamitra is effectively passing the baton of its protection to the young prince. It signifies the merging of the Brahmana’s spiritual authority with the Kshatriya’s executive power.

विश्वामित्र की वाणी में यहाँ अद्भुत अपनापन है। वे राम को 'तात' (प्यारे/पुत्र) कहते हैं। वे कहते हैं कि सिद्धाश्रम 'यथा मम' (जैसे मेरा है) वैसे ही 'तव अपि' (तुम्हारा भी है)। यह केवल शिष्टाचार नहीं है, बल्कि अद्वैत भाव और उत्तराधिकार का संकेत है। गुरु का सब कुछ शिष्य का होता है। साथ ही, यह राम को उस स्थान की जिम्मेदारी लेने के लिए मानसिक रूप से तैयार करना भी है—व्यक्ति अपने घर की रक्षा जितनी तत्परता से करता है, उतनी तत्परता पराये स्थान के लिए नहीं करता। इसलिए विश्वामित्र राम को उस स्थान का स्वामी घोषित कर रहे हैं।
