मुहूर्तम् अथ विश्रान्तौ राज पुत्रौ अरिन्दमौ ।
प्रांजली मुनि शार्दूलम् ऊचतू रघुनंदनौ ॥ ॥१-२९-२८॥
Muhūrtam atha viśrāntau rāja putrau arindamau । Prāñjalī muni śārdūlam ūcatū raghunandanau ॥ ॥1-29-28॥
Translation
Thereafter, having rested for a short while (Muhurta), the two delighters of the Raghu clan, the tamers of enemies, stood with joined palms and spoke to the Tiger among Sages.

तदनन्तर, दो घड़ी (मुहूर्त भर) विश्राम करने के बाद, शत्रुओं का दमन करने वाले रघुनन्दन (राम और लक्ष्मण) ने हाथ जोड़कर मुनिश्रेष्ठ (विश्वामित्र) से कहा।
English Commentary
The princes show remarkable discipline. Muhurtam indicates a very brief period of rest. They do not luxuriate in the hospitality described in the previous verse. The epithet Arindamau (Subduers of enemies) is juxtaposed with Pranjali (palms joined in humility). This blend of martial capability and humble submission to the Guru is the essence of the heroic character in Ramayana. They approach Vishvamitra not to ask for more comfort, but to initiate the mission they were brought for.

राम और लक्ष्मण की कर्तव्यनिष्ठा यहाँ दर्शनीय है। वे लंबी यात्रा से आए थे, लेकिन उन्होंने केवल 'मुहूर्तम्' (लगभग 48 मिनट, या कुछ क्षण) विश्राम किया। 'अरिन्दमौ' (शत्रुदमनकारी) विशेषण बताता है कि वे अपने उद्देश्य को भूले नहीं हैं। वे तुरंत तैयार होकर विश्वामित्र के पास गए। 'प्रांजली' (हाथ जोड़े हुए) मुद्रा उनकी विनम्रता और गुरु के प्रति समर्पण दिखाती है। वे विश्राम के लिए नहीं, बल्कि काम (यज्ञ रक्षा) शुरू करने के लिए आए हैं। यह एक आदर्श शिष्य और कर्मयोगी का लक्षण है।
