निर्जित्य दैवत गणान् स इन्द्रान् स मरुद् गणान् ।
कारयामास तद् राज्यम् त्रिषु लोकेषु विश्रुतः ॥१-२९-५॥
nirjitya daivata gaṇān sa indrān sa marud gaṇān । kārayāmāsa tad rājyam triṣu lokeṣu viśrutaḥ ॥ ॥1-29-5॥
Translation
"...having conquered the hosts of gods including Indra and the Maruts, ruled that kingdom, becoming renowned throughout the three worlds."

"...इन्द्र और मरुद्गणों सहित समस्त देवताओं को जीतकर, तीनों लोकों में विख्यात होकर अपने राज्य का शासन कर रहा था।"
English Commentary
This verse establishes the magnitude of Bali's power. He defeated the divine hierarchy, including Indra (the King of Gods) and the Maruts (storm deities). His rule was not just local but extended across the trishu lokeshu (three worlds: earth, atmosphere, heaven). By describing Bali's absolute supremacy, Vishvamitra highlights the severity of the crisis that necessitated Vishnu's intervention. It portrays a world order turned upside down, where Asuras displaced the Devas.

बलि की शक्ति का वर्णन यहाँ किया गया है। उसने साधारण राजाओं को नहीं, बल्कि 'स इन्द्रान् स मरुद् गणान्' (इन्द्र और मरुतों सहित देवताओं) को हराया था। वह 'त्रिषु लोकेषु विश्रुतः' (तीनों लोकों में प्रसिद्ध) था। यह दर्शाता है कि वामन अवतार के समय असुरों का वर्चस्व कितना अधिक था। बलि केवल एक योद्धा नहीं, बल्कि एक सफल शासक भी था, जिसने त्रिलोक पर अपना अधिकार स्थापित कर लिया था।
