अथ काले गते तस्मिन् षष्ठे अहनि तदा आगते ।
सौमित्रम् अब्रवीद् रामो यत्तो भव समाहितः ॥ ॥१-३०-७॥
Atha kāle gate tasmin ṣaṣṭhe ahani tadā āgate । Saumitram abravīd rāmo yatto bhava samāhitaḥ ॥ ॥1-30-7॥
Translation
Then, as the time passed and the sixth day arrived, Rama spoke to the son of Sumitra (Lakshmana): "Be alert and fully focused."
हिंदी अनुवाद
इस प्रकार समय बीतने पर जब वह छठा दिन आ गया, तब राम ने सुमित्रानंदन (लक्ष्मण) से कहा—"सावधान हो जाओ और पूर्णतः एकाग्र (समाहित) हो जाओ।"
English Commentary
This verse builds suspense. The long vigil is nearing its end, which is psychologically the most dangerous time due to potential complacency. Rama, demonstrating superior leadership, anticipates the climax. He instructs Lakshmana to heighten his readiness (Yatto bhava) and focus (Samahitah). Rama senses the shift in the atmosphere. By addressing Lakshmana specifically as Saumitram, the bond of trust is highlighted—Lakshmana is his right hand. This command signals the transition from static guarding to active combat readiness.

यह शांति से तूफान की ओर बढ़ने का क्षण है। पांच रातें शांति से बीत गईं, जिससे किसी का भी ध्यान भटक सकता था, लेकिन राम जानते थे कि शत्रु अंतिम क्षण में प्रहार करेगा। इसलिए छठे दिन की शुरुआत में ही उन्होंने लक्ष्मण को चेतावनी दी। 'यत्तो भव' (तैयार रहो) और 'समाहितः' (चित्त को स्थिर करो) का निर्देश एक सेनापति का आदेश है। राम अपनी 'सहज वृत्ति' (Instinct) से खतरे को भांप रहे हैं। यह श्लोक आगामी संघर्ष की भूमिका (Buildup) तैयार करता है।
