Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
रामस्य एवम् ब्रुवाणस्य त्वरितस्य युयुत्सया ।
प्रजज्वाल ततो वेदिः स उपाध्याय पुरोहिता ॥ ॥१-३०-८॥
Rāmasya evam bruvāṇasya tvaritasya yuyutsayā । Prajajvāla tato vediḥ sa upādhyāya purohitā ॥ ॥1-30-8॥
Translation
As Rama spoke thus, hurrying with a desire to fight, the sacrificial altar flared up, illuminating the preceptors and priests gathered there.

युद्ध की इच्छा से शीघ्रता करते हुए राम के इस प्रकार बोलने पर, तत्पश्चात् उपाध्यायों और पुरोहितों सहित वह वेदी प्रज्वलित हो उठी।
English Commentary
This verse captures a synchronous moment of divine affirmation. As Rama expresses his eagerness (yuyutsayā) to engage in battle against the demons, the sacrificial fire flares up naturally. This sudden brightening of the altar (vediḥ prajajvāla) serves as a portent, signaling Agni's (the Fire God's) awareness and approval of Rama’s resolve. The presence of the preceptors (upādhyāya) and priests (purohitā) bathed in this light highlights the convergence of Brahma-tejas (spiritual power of the sages) and Kshatra-tejas (martial power of Rama). It sets a dramatic stage where the holy ritual is about to be interrupted by chaos, yet the divine forces are already alert and responding to the Protector's intent.

इस श्लोक में एक अद्भुत संयोग का वर्णन है। जैसे ही श्रीराम ने दुष्टों के दमन और धर्म की रक्षा के लिए शस्त्र उठाने की तत्परता दिखाई, वैसे ही अग्निदेव मानो उनके समर्थन में प्रज्वलित हो उठे। 'युयुत्सया' (युद्ध करने की इच्छा) शब्द यहाँ श्रीराम के क्षत्रिय धर्म के पालन के उत्साह को दर्शाता है। यज्ञ की वेदी का अचानक प्रज्वलित होना एक शुभ शकुन है, जो यह संकेत देता है कि देवताओं का आशीर्वाद राम के साथ है। यह दृश्य वातावरण में व्याप्त तनाव और पवित्रता के मिश्रण को बहुत ही सुंदरता से प्रस्तुत करता है। एक ओर राक्षसों का भय है, तो दूसरी ओर धर्मरक्षक राम का आत्मविश्वास और दैवीय समर्थन। यह घटनाक्रम पाठकों को आने वाले संघर्ष के लिए मानसिक रूप से तैयार करता है, जहाँ एक ओर आसुरी शक्तियाँ हैं और दूसरी ओर दैवीय तेज।
