स्वस्ति वो अस्तु गमिष्यामि सिद्धः सिद्ध आश्रमात् अहम् ।
उत्तरे जाह्नवी तीरे हिमवंतम् शिलोच्चयम् ॥ ॥१-३१-१५॥
Svasti vo astu gamiṣyāmi siddhaḥ siddha āśramāt aham । Uttare jāhnavī tīre himavamtam śiloccayam ॥ ॥1-31-15॥
Translation
"May prosperity be yours! Having achieved success (in my Yajna), I am leaving this Siddha-ashrama. I am proceeding towards the northern banks of the Jahnavi (Ganga) near the Himalayas, the mountain of rocks."

"तुम्हारा कल्याण हो! अब मैं कृतकार्य (सफल) होकर इस सिद्धाश्रम से जा रहा हूँ। मैं उत्तर दिशा में गंगा (जाह्नवी) के तट पर हिमालय पर्वत की ओर प्रस्थान कर रहा हूँ।"
English Commentary
Vishvamitra's farewell words are filled with a sense of accomplishment. He uses the phrase Siddhaḥ Siddha-āśramāt—"Successful, I leave the Ashram of Success." This wordplay highlights the fulfillment of his vow to complete the Yajna, made possible by Rama. He blesses the surroundings ("May prosperity be yours") before turning his gaze northward. The specific mention of the "Jahnavi" (Ganga) and the "Himavantam" (Himalayas) sets the geographical trajectory for the upcoming journey. It signifies a move from the plains of the Dandaka/Siddhashrama region towards the holy mountains, symbolizing an ascent towards higher spiritual and martial feats in Mithila.
