Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
एवम् उक्ते तयोः वाक्यम् सर्व एव महर्षयः ।
विश्वामित्रम् पुरस्कृत्य रामम् वचनम् अब्रुवन् ॥ ॥१-३१-५॥
Evam ukte tayoḥ vākyam sarva eva maharṣayaḥ । Viśvāmitram puraskṛtya rāmam vacanam abruvan ॥ ॥1-31-5॥
Translation
Upon their speaking thus, all the great sages, keeping Vishvamitra at their head, spoke these words to Rama.
हिंदी अनुवाद
उनके (राम और लक्ष्मण के) ऐसा कहने पर, विश्वामित्र को आगे करके (अगुआ मानकर) वहाँ उपस्थित सभी महर्षियों ने श्रीराम से यह वचन कहे।
English Commentary
The collective voice of the sages is heard here. While Vishvamitra is the leader (puraskṛtya - keeping him in the front), the other sages also participate in addressing Rama. This indicates that the decision to proceed to Mithila is a consensus among the wise elders. The princes' humility has evidently endeared them to the entire assembly. It marks a transition: Rama is no longer just Vishvamitra's ward but has become a beloved protector to the entire community of ascetics, who now collectively guide his path forward.

यहाँ निर्णय प्रक्रिया में सामूहिकता दिखाई देती है। यद्यपि विश्वामित्र नेता हैं ('पुरस्कृत्य' - उन्हें आगे रखकर), परन्तु अन्य महर्षि भी चर्चा में सम्मिलित हैं। यह दर्शाता है कि राम का विनय देखकर सभी ऋषि प्रसन्न और प्रभावित थे। ऋषियों का समूह एकमत होकर राम से बात करता है, जो संकेत देता है कि वे राम के भविष्य और अगले गंतव्य के बारे में पहले ही विचार कर चुके हैं। यह 'यज्ञ-रक्षा' के अध्याय की समाप्ति और 'जनक-पुर' (मिथिला) की यात्रा के अध्याय का आरम्भ है।
