त्वम् चैव नरशार्दूल सह अस्माभिर् गमिष्यसि ।
अद्भुतम् च धनू रत्नम् तत्र त्वम् द्रष्टुम् अर्हसि ॥ ॥१-३१-७॥
Tvam caiva naraśārdūla saha asmābhir gamiṣyasi । Adbhutam ca dhanū ratnam tatra tvam draṣṭum arhasi ॥ ॥1-31-7॥
Translation
"And you too, O Tiger among men, shall go with us. You deserve to see that wonderful gem of a bow there."

"हे नरशार्दूल (पुरुषों में सिंह)! तुम भी हमारे साथ चलो। वहाँ तुम एक अद्भुत 'धनुष-रत्न' (श्रेष्ठ धनुष) को देखने योग्य हो (तुम्हें उसे देखना चाहिए)।"
English Commentary
The invitation is formalized. The sages appeal to Rama's martial nature by calling him Nara-shardula (Tiger among men) and enticing him with the prospect of seeing a legendary weapon. The bow is termed dhanū ratnam—literally a "gem of a bow," implying it is unique, precious, and superior to all others. The phrase draṣṭum arhasi is significant; it suggests that Rama is worthy of seeing it. It implies that this object is not for common eyes, but a warrior of Rama's caliber "deserves" to witness it.

ऋषियों ने राम को साथ चलने का प्रस्ताव रखा। यहाँ आकर्षण का केंद्र 'धनुष' है। उसे 'धनू रत्नम्' कहा गया है—अर्थात् धनुषों में रत्न या श्रेष्ठ। 'द्रष्टुम् अर्हसि' (तुम्हें देखना चाहिए / तुम देखने योग्य हो) का गहरा अर्थ है। ऋषि जानते हैं कि राम एक महान धनुर्धर हैं, इसलिए एक दिव्य धनुष उनके लिए कौतूहल का विषय होगा। यह राम की स्वाभाविक योद्धा-वृत्ति को आकर्षित करने का तरीका है। वे यह नहीं कहते कि "तुम्हें धनुष तोड़ना है", बल्कि केवल "दर्शन" की बात करते हैं, जिससे नियति अपना कार्य कर सके।
