अहम् वः कामये सर्वा भार्या मम भविष्यथ ।
मानुषः त्यज्यताम् भावो दीर्घम् आयुर् अवाप्स्यथ ॥ ॥१-३२-१६॥
Aham vaḥ kāmaye sarvā bhāryā mama bhaviṣyatha । Mānuṣaḥ tyajyatām bhāvo dīrgham āyur avāpsyatha ॥ ॥1-32-16॥
Translation
"I desire you all; become my wives. Abandon the human state (mortality); you shall attain long life (immortality/longevity)."

"मैं तुम सभी को चाहता हूँ (प्रेम करता हूँ)। तुम मेरी पत्नियाँ बन जाओ। इस मानवी भाव (मनुष्य होने के विचार/मर्त्य स्वभाव) को त्याग दो, (मुझसे जुड़कर) तुम दीर्घायु प्राप्त करोगी।"
English Commentary
Vayu makes a direct proposition: he wants all hundred sisters as his wives. His argument is based on the limitation of human existence. He urges them to 'abandon the human notion/state' (Mānuṣaḥ tyajyatām bhāvo). In exchange for marrying a god, he offers them Dirgham ayur (longevity/semi-immortality), implying that as humans, they are destined to wither and die, but as his consorts, they would transcend death. It is a temptation scene where the deity offers supernatural status in exchange for their chastity and loyalty, disregarding their current social or moral obligations.

वायु देव का प्रस्ताव सीधा और प्रलोभन से भरा है। 'अहम् वः कामये'—मैं तुम्हें चाहता हूँ। वे एक साथ सभी सौ बहनों से विवाह करना चाहते हैं। उनका तर्क (Pitch) क्या है? 'मानुषः त्यज्यताम् भावो'—मनुष्य होना दुखदायी और नश्वर है। देवता से विवाह करने पर वे 'दीर्घम् आयुर्' (लंबी आयु/अमरता जैसी स्थिति) प्राप्त करेंगी। यह एक क्लासिक प्रलोभन (Temptation) है—मर्त्य को अमरता का लालच। वायु यहाँ शक्ति और पद के मद में हैं, वे प्रेम की याचना नहीं कर रहे, बल्कि एक सौदा (deal) पेश कर रहे हैं जो उनके अनुसार कन्याओं के लिए लाभदायक है।
