असूर्तरजसो राम धर्मारण्यम् महामतिः ।
चक्रे पुरवरम् राजा वसुर् नाम गिरिव्रजम् ॥ ॥१-३२-७॥
Asūrtarajaso rāma dharmāraṇyam mahāmatiḥ । Cakre puravaram rājā vasur nāma girivrajam ॥ ॥1-32-7॥
Translation
O Rama, the highly intelligent Asurtarajasa founded Dharmaranya. And King Vasu built the excellent city named Girivraja.
हिंदी अनुवाद
हे राम! महाबुद्धिमान आसूर्तरजस ने 'धर्मारण्य' नामक नगर बसाया। और राजा वसु ने 'गिरिव्रज' नामक श्रेष्ठ नगर का निर्माण किया।
English Commentary
The catalogue concludes with the other two sons. Asurtarajasa founds Dharmaranya (Forest of Dharma), implying a city with a strong religious foundation. King Vasu founds Girivraja (The Cattle-pen of Mountains/Enclosure of Hills). Girivraja is the ancient name for Rajgir in the Magadha region (Bihar). It was famous for being surrounded by five hills, making it a natural fortress (Puravaram—excellent city). Since Vishvamitra and Rama are currently conversing near the Shona river (in the Magadha region), the mention of Vasu and Girivraja provides the immediate historical context of the land they are standing on.

यहाँ बाकी दो भाइयों के नगरों का वर्णन है। आसूर्तरजस ने 'धर्मारण्य' बसाया (इसे भी कन्नौज के पास या गया के पास माना जाता है, स्थान विवादित है पर प्राचीन है)। राजा वसु ने 'गिरिव्रज' बसाया। यह सबसे महत्वपूर्ण है क्योंकि 'गिरिव्रज' (पहाड़ों का बाड़ा) मगध की प्राचीन राजधानी थी, जिसे बाद में राजगृह (राजगीर) कहा गया। यह पाँच पहाड़ियों से घिरा हुआ एक प्राकृतिक दुर्ग था। विश्वामित्र वर्तमान में इसी क्षेत्र (शोण तट, मगध के पास) में हैं, इसलिए वसु और गिरिव्रज का उल्लेख प्रासंगिक है। 'पुरवरम्' (नगरों में श्रेष्ठ) विशेषण गिरिव्रज की भव्यता और सामरिक महत्व को दर्शाता है।
