वायुः सर्वात्मको राजन् प्रधर्षयितुम् इच्छति ।
अशुभम् मार्गम् आस्थाय न धर्मम् प्रत्यवेक्षते ॥ ॥१-३३-२॥
Vāyuḥ sarvātmako rājan pradharṣayitum icchati |
Aśubham mārgam āsthāya na dharmam pratyavekṣate ॥1-33-2॥
Translation
O King, the all-pervading Wind seeks to violate us. Resorting to an inauspicious and improper path, he does not pay heed to Dharma (righteousness).

हे पिताजी (राजन), वह सर्वव्यापी वायु हमारा मान-मर्दन (अपमान) करना चाहता है। अशुभ और अनुचित मार्ग का आश्रय लेकर वह धर्म की ओर तनिक भी ध्यान नहीं दे रहा है।
English Commentary
In this verse, the daughters of Kushanabha report the unethical conduct of Vayu (the Wind God) to their father. Despite being described as sarvātmaka (the soul or breath of all beings), Vayu is depicted here as being blinded by desire, forsaking the path of righteousness (Dharma). The maidens highlight a profound ethical conflict: possession of power or divinity does not grant license to act immorally. By choosing the 'inauspicious path,' Vayu ignores the universal laws of conduct. The verse emphasizes that Dharma is the ultimate standard against which even the actions of gods are measured. The daughters' complaint focuses not just on their harassment, but on Vayu's blatant disregard for the cosmic order he is supposed to uphold.

यहाँ कुशनाभ की पुत्रियाँ अपने पिता से वायुदेव के अधार्मिक आचरण की शिकायत कर रही हैं। यद्यपि वायु 'सर्वात्मक' हैं—अर्थात् सभी प्राणियों के प्राण रूप हैं—तथापि यहाँ वे कामातुर होकर अपनी मर्यादा भूल गए हैं। कन्याओं का कथन यह दर्शाता है कि शक्ति या देवत्व का पद किसी को धर्म से ऊपर नहीं कर देता। जब कोई शक्तिशाली व्यक्ति 'अशुभ मार्ग' (अनीति) का सहारा लेता है, तो वह धर्म की मर्यादा का उल्लंघन करता है। पुत्रियाँ यहाँ अपनी विवशता नहीं, बल्कि वायु के नैतिक पतन को उजागर कर रही हैं। वे स्पष्ट करती हैं कि वायु का यह कृत्य केवल एक व्यक्तिगत इच्छा नहीं, बल्कि धर्म की अवहेलना है, जो एक देव के लिए निंदनीय है।
