कृत उद्वाहम् तु राजानम् ब्रह्मदत्तम् महीपतिः ।
सदारम् प्रेषयामास स उपाध्याय गणम् तदा ॥१-३३-२५॥
kṛta udvāham tu rājānam brahmadattam mahīpatiḥ |
sadāram preṣayāmāsa sa upādhyāya gaṇam tadā ॥1-33-25॥
Translation
Once the marriage was solemnized, the King (Kushanabha) sent off King Brahmadatta, who had completed the nuptials, along with his wives and his assembly of preceptors.
हिंदी अनुवाद
विवाह कार्य संपन्न होने पर राजा (कुशनाभ) ने विवाह कर चुके राजा ब्रह्मदत्त को उनकी पत्नियों तथा उपाध्याय-गणों (पुरोहितों) के साथ विदा किया।
English Commentary
This verse concludes the wedding ceremony with the formal send-off. The term kṛta udvāham indicates the successful completion of the wedding rituals. Kushanabha ensures a proper departure for Brahmadatta, now accompanied by his wives (sadāram) and his spiritual preceptors (upādhyāya gaṇam). The inclusion of the preceptors in the send-off highlights the religious nature of the alliance; it was not merely a political union but a sacrament overseen by sages. This action signifies Kushanabha fulfilling his final duty as the father of the brides, transferring their care to their husband.
