कुशिकनाम् अयम् वंशो महान् धर्मपरः सदा ।
ब्रह्म उपमा महात्मनः कुशवंश्या नरोत्तम ॥१-३४-२०॥
kuśikanām ayam vaṃśo mahān dharmaparaḥ sadā |
brahما upamā mahātmanaḥ kuśavaṃśyā narottama ॥1-34-20॥
Translation
(The sages said:) This lineage of the Kushikas is great and always devoted to righteousness. O best of men! These great souls of the Kusha lineage are comparable to Lord Brahma himself.
हिंदी अनुवाद
(मुनियों ने कहा:) कुशिकां (कौशिकों) का यह वंश महान है और सदा धर्म-परायण रहा है। हे नरोत्तम! कुश वंश के ये महात्मा ब्रह्म (ब्रह्माजी) के समान तेजस्वी हैं।
English Commentary
The visiting sages provide a third-party validation of Vishvamitra's family history. By stating that the Kusha lineage is dharmaparaḥ sadā (always intent on Dharma), they confirm that the stories of Gadhi and Kushanabha were not mere boasts but historical truths known to the ascetic community. Comparing the lineage to Brahma (brahma upamā) is significant, acknowledging the high spiritual status attained by the kings turned rishis in this family. This reinforces Rama's respect for his teacher.

अन्य मुनिगण विश्वामित्र के वंश की महिमा का गान करते हैं। वे स्वीकार करते हैं कि कुशिक वंश 'सदा धर्मपरः' (सदैव धर्म में तत्पर) रहा है। 'ब्रह्म उपमा' (ब्रह्मा की उपमा योग्य) एक बहुत बड़ी प्रशंसा है, जो संभवतः इस तथ्य की ओर संकेत करती है कि विश्वामित्र ने अपनी तपस्या से नई सृष्टि रचने की 'ब्रह्म-शक्ति' प्राप्त कर ली थी, और उनके पूर्वज (जैसे कुश) ब्रह्मा के ही वंशज थे। 'नरोत्तम' संबोधन यहाँ विश्वामित्र के लिए हो सकता है (पुरुषों में श्रेष्ठ) या राम को संबोधित कर बताया जा रहा हो कि वे किस महान गुरु के सानिध्य में हैं।
